Robert Forster with Jherek Bischoff & String Quartet - People Say / In Her Diary 7"

Robert Forster, founding member of The Go-Betweens, was invited to perform a selection of his favorite songs at German WEEK-END Fest (weekendfest.de) back in 2013. The arrangements for this set were written by the talented Jherek Bischoff (who worked and collaborated with artists such as David Byrne, Caetano Veloso, Amanda Palmer ...). The set of ten songs was recorded prior to their performance and set for a later release. It eventually got shelved when Forster wanted to concentrate on his next album "Songs To Play" - also available in this shop (see below).
Now for the first time ever available: A stripped down waltz-style-version of The Go-Betweens' 2nd single, 1979's "People Say" - according to Forster:
"I love the version. It is one of the best recordings I think I have ever done."
Accompanied by the American artist Mike Donovan (Sic Alps/Peacers) on 2nd vocals. No less exciting is "In Her Diary", a song originally released on The Go-Betweens' second last album, 2003's "Bright Orange, Bright Yellow".
